A little bit like the vintage MGB I recently invested in, I’ve definitely been around. At least around the public accounting scene in Southern Ontario. 25 years to be exact, starting with one of the big, national firms and then moving out on my own to build and grow the Turner Moore network that now spans the province. And long enough to stack up all the designations that follow my name.
My sweet spot is providing a range of accounting, taxation, advisory services to owner-managed enterprises. I also have a passion for computer systems consulting and enjoy bringing innovative tech solutions to my clients when they need them. A few segments fill out my client roster, like construction, manufacturing, retail, professional services, farming and not-for-profit, but to any SME, I say, “Bring It On!”.
I may be the firm’s Managing Partner, but that doesn’t mean I’m ever out of touch with my clients — across Durham Region, the GTA and beyond. One of the ways I stay connected is through years of involvement with minor league sports and particularly hockey — coaching (the fun part) and administration (equally fun, because I’m an accountant). As with all the players I’ve coached, my goal is to see my client’s financial situation and needs, but also to connect with them as people.
Other ways I’m living my best life: Live theatre — all kinds. Our little piece of Florida, where all generations of the family relax, recharge and reconnect. Celebrating our incredible and growing Turner Moore family every day, as we bring our personal best to everything we do, especially to our clients.
I’m Gord Peters. If you see me driving around Ajax, Pickering, Whitby or Oshawa with the top down, I’m either on my way to see a client just like you or to a local hockey arena. In any case, please say hello. I’d love to meet you.
