The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has posted information on its Web site outlining the anticipated delivery methods for federal government cheques during the postal strike.
Some types of cheques, including child tax benefit, Old Age Security, and Canada Pension Plan payments will continue to be delivered during the strike, although they may not be received on the usual dates. Cheques for other types of payments, like income tax refunds and the goods and services tax credit will not be delivered during the strike.
Any amounts which are received by direct deposit are not affected by the strike. More detailed information can be found on the CRA Web site at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/gncy/pstlstrk/menu-eng.html.
The CRA has also posted information on how it can receive other types of taxpayer correspondence during the strike, and that information is available at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/gncy/pstlstrk/whtsnw-eng.html.
